They offered us some yummy cake, coffee, and coke. |

This morning was a good morning. We woke up on time, showered, ate, and were ready to go by nine. (Uh Oh, Lauren's shoes are two sizes too small... This won't end well.) The company we visited today was called Skapa. It's a company that offers smart online communication help. They do this by producing websites, blogs, and using different media to help their businesses grow and succeed, such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube. We talked with their CEO, Erik Ekholm. He explained everything to us and showed us all of the parts of his business and how he sells his services to different customers. He talked to us about the different techniques business use to gain money and good reputation. One example was Ford. They used the cash-for-clunkers campaign and Twitter along with cost cutting to help their business grow. He said that companies that ask Skapa for help are companies that have existed for about ten years. These companies have enough money to pay for their services and also have more potential to succeed with Skapa's help.

These cool chairs were in the front of the Skapa office. |
Our meeting lasted until about noon, and then we went to Haga to shop and eat until our meeting at the University of Gothenburg at two. Katie and I went to a restaurant called Carraro. They served amazing soup and had giant cream puffs! (Look at my Food! page!) Then we walked up and down the main street, looking for new dress shoes that won't kill my toes... We didn't find any.

At two, we went to the University of Gothenburg's school of Business, Economics, and Law. One of the professors of business talked to us for an hour and a half. Everyone was falling asleep because we were all so tired. The chairs were really comfortable and the room was warm, which didn't help at all. He talked about the school and its history. Then we took a tour of the school, which was kinda long because my feet were killing me the entire time... Afterwords, we went back and learned about Sweden's business and detail aspect, which included a piece about many different businesses located in Sweden, such as Astra Zeneca, Volvo, Volvo cars, Stena, SKF, and Ericsson. This lasted a couple more hours, ending that visit at four. (The pictures are: a classroom, the view from the roof, and a study area in the college.)
Everyone was falling asleep at the meeting, so we came back to SlottsSkogens (our hotel) and took naps. Dinner is at seven, and I'm very excited because it's supposed to be terrific. I'll post about it soon! Adios!
