Swedish College and Robots

Today started off early. We had to get up at 730 so that we could leave by 8. Ugh. I was so tired!
Mike and Austin in the college classroom.
We went to the University of Gothenburg for a presentation done by the students. Their finals for the semester are this week, so this presentation was their final exam. They talked about the automotive industry of China. Wah wah waaaaaaaaahhhh. It was fantastically confusing. I'm not a marketing major or anything close to that sort, so I was very confused. It was alright though. I only fell asleep once even though I was so tired, so I was proud of myself.

After the presentation, we ate lunch at the college cafeteria and then went to ABB Robotics.  JJ used to work there, so he had been raving about it all week. It was super cool. The presentation was done by Bert Thorvaldsson. He was really nice and kept us involved in the presentation. One focus of his presentation was telling us the business plan of the company. It had a lot to do with customer's needs and was very keen on highly customizable products. No two robots are the same at ABB. Each robot is made to order with approximately 1 million combinations.
I was getting sort of tired during the presentation, so during a break, I had 3 shots of espresso... bad idea. I was really interested in the topic, but caffeine zaps my attention to zero. That was a major bummer.
ABB had a desert inside with cacti!
The emergency stop button!

Robots!
After our ABB presentation, we went outside to go home and it was raining!!! All of us running around in our nice clothes in the cold rain was very sad.  We got money to go to the supermarket, though, so we could get a bunch of yummy food on the way home. It was another cooking meal tonight. Austin, Mike, Katie, and I made tortollini, bread, salad, swedish meatballs, shrimp, and olives. It was totally random but totally amazing. We also got dessert: cookies!!! Then we hung out as a group again for the rest of the night.
It was a pretty good day... I'll talk to you all tomorrow!
